American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR AED

Heartsaver® CPR AED is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Fire Extinguisher 101

A fire extinguisher is something you probably have in your home!  It could save Your Life and Your Family......BUT DO YOU REALLY KNOW HOW TO USE IT?


90% of people will say they've never put their hands on a fire extinguisher and they've never tried to use it.

This course of instruction is not designed to turn participants into firefighters, but rather equip you with the knowledge and skills to detect and extinguish a fire only when it is safe to do so. Join Norway’s Fire Chief, Dennis Yates for potential life-saving tips that could be useful if a fire breaks out in your home. Through hands-on training with fire simulations in a safe learning environment, the professional instructors will educate you on the basics of fire extinguishers, i.e. when and how to use a fire extinguisher, the different types of fire extinguishers, the different types of fires and fire extinguisher maintenance.

Low Impact Aerobics and Functional Training Join SMH and Kristin Linindoll, Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation RN at SMH for this fun, energetic, introductory, 6-week, one-hour class designed specifically for YOU.  All ages. All fitness levels.  The class curriculum incorporates approximately 30 minutes of easy-to-follow low-impact cardio style aerobics followed by approximately 20-25 minutes of conditioning moves and functional training moves to strengthen and tone your whole body and core.  Oxford Hills native, Kristin Linindoll, has been a group exercise instructor for approximately 25 years having taught at Hillside Racquetball and Health Club in South Paris, Hilltop Sports Center in Lewiston, Personal Best Health Club in South Paris, as well as classes at Stephens Memorial Hospital for employees and at Oxford Hills High School for teen athletes.
